Sketch #8 is about 17"x21" and is made from hanger wire and fence wire. The piece was rather handily rendered because it depicted a sketch and the joints didn't require the usual 'tidiness.' The backing is half inch floor underlayment material similar to wafer board. Can you smell the salt water and hear the gulls squawking?
Ladder Going Nowhere is about 8"x19" and is made from metal gutter flashing and fence wire.
Cher is about 17" by 17" and is made from found wire, hanger wire and autobody sheet metal. The "r" was cut from a piece of copper-clad circuit board. The caricature I used for a model was drawn in the early 1980's. Cher is one of my favorite entertainers.
Melancolia is about 4" by 19" and is made using scrap 16 gauge sheet metal. The illustration used for a model of this piece was stretched 135% vertically making the rendering distorted in that direction. The backing was a drawer front I picked up at the dump. The blue is auto body paint with colored pencils used to shade various areas.
Brooklyn Brownstone is about 16" by 22" and is made from hanger, yard sign and fence wire along with some sheet metal of unknown ancestry. This is my first attempt at an architectual rendering.
