Digital Prints of Photographs of Things Around Columbia, MO.

In early February 2008, I decided to try my hand at taking pictures, massaging them in Photoshop and making patterns from the result. I went over to the Univ. of MO campus and took some pictures of those iconic columns on the Red Campus...(I thought..."If Thomas Kinkade can make a picture of them, so can I").... I know there must be thousands of images of those columns. Using Photoshop, I made a arty rendering of the columns & it looked pretty good, IMHO. Then I made up a bunch of note cards & gave them to friends....they looked good.... so I was off and running......made note cards of five of the photos.... see below .....original photo on left then the rendered picture

As you can see, I've used the tops of the right-most columns. I then made a wire pattern from that to be used for one of my wire pieces.
This is a charming, empty house on E. Worley Street. It's the only colorful house in the neighborhood.
This is an old grain silo out in Grindstone Park...too bad the city tried to remove the grafitti...it would have made the picture more interesting
I really wanted to get a good skyline but I didn't have my tele-lens with me..
This is a window in an old highway department building on old 63. The building, itself, has some Art Deco features of the 20's. It's now fallen into disrepair :-( & serves a landscapeing company as storage..
...the guys across the street have a marvelous flower bed...I took some pictures & with Photoshop I applied a poster edge to one of the photos.
