This page is an accumulation of several pages that have appeared as monthly 'offerings' in the past.

Following are some sculptures I'm working on currently. Some are incomplete and a few need retakes. But here we are.......

This lady was cut from a piece of appliance steel. The steel was polished and 'distressed'. The coloration is a camera sensor problem and not the color of the metal. I used a Penny's clothing ad for a model. The background is some particle board I got from a dumpster. It is about 22" high. |
These following two curly wire sculptures are about 18" tall. Copper paint was applied to the edges of the frames. The frames were offcuts from a piece of particle board. A router was used to give the edges a finished look.
The curvy wire rolled into a, more-or-less, cylinder. A jig was used to bend the wire. An Asian sub-continent bracelet was used as a model for the pattern. |
A rolling mill was used to flatten a piece of scrap copper wire into the ribbon-like shape. The piece was attached to the frame by rose-head copper nails. |
| This wall art piece is about 34" tall and is made from metal coat hanger wire. The swatches of upholstery fabric I got at a 2nd hand store for pennies. The ends of the piece still need something..I'm .not sure, at the moment, just what.. |

You've seen progress pictures of this one before. The piece is about 18" x 18" and made from copper wire. Her hair is a piece of galvanized metal that has had the zinc burned off. A Singapore Airlines ad in the Wall St. Journal was used for the model. I started this lady over a month ago but got sidetracked, however, she's been very patient with me but a little anxious to be completed. The decoration on the right is made from some scrap metal strapping I picked up at a home site and the little wire thingies on it are pieces of metal coat hanger. For some strange reason, every time I worked with her, her personality altered...a schizophrenic sculpture!!??? |
Oct 3, 2005, Yard Art & Etc.
| This piece was made from the side of a shopping cart I dug out of a dumpster. The curvy piece was once part of a CD display rack. The two metal maple leaves were made from salvaged metal ducting |
This piece still needs something inside the circles...maybe, a large coil. The sculpture was cut from a tank(similiar to a propane tank) that once contained some contact adhesive. The tank was sliced on alternate sides and just extended. Painted John Deere yellow. It kind of sways in the wind. |
| This piece of wall art is in the 'in progress' stage. The woven strips are various widths of metal freight strapping that were annealed in order to make them more ductile and easy to work. The frame is held to the woven part by magnets. Eventually, the woven portion will be brazed together for permanence. |

This sculpture was made from pieces of wire coat hanger and brazed together to make a fruit bowl( or 2/3 wire egg shell)...I dunno.. the base is, likewise, made from coat hanger wire wound in a circle and brazed to the piece. I may, eventually, chemically treat the brass brazed joints to make them less conspicuous. **Note May 26, '09....I get a lot of 'hits' on this item from Google Images from all over the world. The sculpture, with a hanging fish added and called Phrench Phiting Phish, was sold to a buyer from Ohio for $40... if you want one made, much like this, contact me.... |

| I'm using a Neiman Marcus ad from the Wall St. Journal for this sculpture. The wire is copper and the scarf is some scrap, brass screen. The yellow garment is some painted burlap. The piece still needs some cogitating before I finish it up. The sculpture is about 40 inches tall. |

I'm not quite sure where my head was when I made these. They are made from metal coat hangers. Maybe the birds or squirrels can find some use for them. The fabrication process was enlightening, however, the end product leaves something to be desired. |
| This is the 4th sculpture I've made from a Ken Fallin, Wall St. Journal drawing. The wire, however, are metal coat hangers and not copper like the previous three. I've added a bit of color to Julie Andrew's lips. The black field on the left is the bottom of a Diet Coke case. If you look closely, you can just make out the circular indentations. Ms. Andrews is about 17" tall. |

| This nude is similiar to the other two I have done previously, however, this lady was made from rather thick and unwieldy #6 iron wire that once held a political, yard sign. She is attached to a piece of salvaged particle board and is about 28" tall. |
This wire sculpture is kind of a whimsical thing. The asymmetry of the piece is intentional. Made from metal coat hangers, it is about 18" tall |
| This little guy is only 8" tall and is created from coat hangers. One can certainly detect the wave-like nature of the piece and is , probably, a product of the artisan's physics background. |

| This is a little bed I made for my grandson's stuffed dog. I had, previously, made a doll bed for his sister and he requested something. The rail and bottom were made from old kitchen cabinet doors. |
| This is a wall sculpture made from metal coat hangers and colored plexiglass. The larger circles are 3" in diameter. |
Another circle/disc sculpture made from metal hangers and pretty cardboard trash. |
I made a series of 5 plate holders for a close friend's plates.
The 5 racks mounted above the kitchen counter. Two of the plates are just place holders for the picture(5 & 6from left). |

This is my Whatever tree from the Whatever Holiday. It is made from metal coat hangers and other cardboard trash. The metaphor of the sculpture escapes me at the moment but I should come up with something eventually. |
