'Always Time for Love' Clock

These clocks were modeled after Robert Indiana's 1976 LOVE sculpture. All the materials were salvaged or used. The bases are Corian sink cut-outs I picked up at a yard sale for a quarter each. The brass was once a door kick plate I bought from Habitat for Humanity for several dollars. The steel was once part of some appliance...the species forgotten. Klockit supplied the clock mechanisms. The L-O-V-E was cut using a jeweler's saw and polished using an industrial buffer. It was not my intention to hide or camouflage all the imperfections in the metal surface...these imperfections fit well into the metaphor of the piece. The "Always Time For Love" label I engraved using a commercial pantograph engraver. Beneath the base are some pads made from scrap leather.
| This clock is made from all brass material. I discovered, too late, I had used the back of the kick plate and not the smoother, front side... life goes on... | ![]() |
| Both clocks have brass label plates that have identical engraving. The plate is glued to the Corian. | ![]() |

The vertical L-O-V-E is brazed to a securing piece of metal then bolted to the base. The domed objects are the tops of some upholstery tacks. |
