June 2006 Projects

Last Update June 28, 2006

This is the sixth rendering of a Ken Fallin drawing. The subject is Jane Jacobs, an urban activist, who died recently. Hanger wire and steel sheet scrap were used for the face and fabric scraps for her clothing. I added a touch of color to the woman's lips. Ms. Jacobs is 13" tall. This sunburst is about 34" in diameter and is made from metal hanger wire and metal strapping. Several months ago, I posted a smaller version of a sunburst. It is spray painted a flat black.
The woman is made from wire clothes hangers and scrap steel sheet. I used a sketch from a European designer as a model.. The bracelet and necklace are made from some metal punchings and brazed together... Her stunning yellow dress was made from some scrap fabric and painted yellow....The oval-shaped frame looks nice... She still needs a little work to be complete.
This sculpture, about 19" tall, is another Ken Fallin rendering. He was kind enough to send me an unpublished drawing. Can you guess who she might be?? Click on this sentence to find out.
