At the Lakota Coffee Company

Dec 2006-June 2007

I spoke with Skip, the owner of the Lakota Coffee Shop in late November but it wasn't until December 16 that I was able to start hanging my stuff. The previous artist, for some reason, couldn't get her things removed. There were problems with too few nails/screws in the crumbly mortar between bricks, intruding on the customers space and other commitments from another show. The ambiance of Lakota is ideal, I believe, for my kind of art and, in fact, I feel this exhibit is the nicest so far. The staff at Lakota were very cordial and helpful. Here are the photos I took this morning(Dec 18) and some are redundant...but one doesn't have to look at them all in order to get a feeling for the exhibit.

Update March 13, 2007

As of this date, I still have an exhibit at Lakota. Skip has allowed me to be there for 2 months beyond the normal 1 month time period. Many of the original hangings are still there but several of the original have been sold or replaced by new things. Skip and the baristas have acknowledged how complimentary customers have been of the show and many have contacted me.

Update June 3, 2007

The exhibit is now going on its 6th month. Most of the pieces shown in the pictures below have either been replaced with new sculptures or sold.
