Show at the RagTag, Oct. 11, 2006

The Ragtag Cinemacafe is primarily an 'artfilm' theatre. The gallery is just an ancillary function of the Ragtag. In the past, it has featured local artist's and student's work that is below most of Columbia citizens radar(so to speak). The walls, as you will notice, are painted a red color that some feel detracts from the art hung on it, however, I didn't find it to be any major problem.. The surface is quite slick and it is difficult to attach things to it with that double stick foam tape. In the pictures, you will notice the annoying reflections from the walls and the slightly tilted nature of some of the hangings. Because the works are hung from a single wire and the tape doesn't stick well, it was very difficult to get the pieces level and to make them stay that way.. All-in-all, I was very pleased with the Ragtag generously providing exposure for my work. In addition, the staff was very competent and obliging.

There were about 60-75 people attending the 2 hour opening reception.

The exhibit came down on October 30 without much ado.

Caricatures drawn for the Wall Street Journal by Ken Fallin were used as models for 8 of my wire pieces. There is a small note beneath the Arthur Miller work that briefly describes who Mr. Fallin is and his support of my work..
